In this first-round release, you have everything you need to start tracking your communications and pull hyper-targeted lists using the new Communications Filter in the Patron Report. So now you can track each message (sent via email; postal mailing; Betamax tape; telegraph; carrier pigeon; for some reason we can’t input 8-track tape–we blame disco) sent to your patrons and any purchase or donations they have made so your next appeal can remain sharp and focused on the desired action of each recipient.
All joking aside, the communication upload tool is a relatively simple CSV file upload. This is an early version of the release so we welcome your feedback as we look to further enhancements in this particular functionality. It is designed to help send different messaging to particular geotargets or to different segments of your database. For example, you may want to send a particular offer or special message to patrons who have responded to a message, donated or attended an event in the last two years. Or you may want to track who in a specific region received a cross-promotion with a local restaurant or other arts venue.
