You’ll see a new enhancement under the Tools drop-down menu. Select “Customize E-Ticket” to provide specific custom instructions for your patrons to print-out tickets or bring them to a particular entrance to your venue. While you can customize other portions of your receipts, e-tickets and pre/post show emails, this enhancement offers yet another way to ensure your patrons have a smooth experience throughout their engagement with you… whether it be in buying a ticket or attending the event.
For OvationTix partners utilizing the Departments functionality to help better differentiate between booked-in events or self-produced shows, or other types of performances, you can now print those specific department names on souvenir (AKA “hard”) tickets. So, for example, if you run a venue that has a consistent renter and you want to acknowledge that renter’s name on the ticket, you can print that renter or “Department” name on the ticket. Or perhaps your are using Departments as a kind of grouping of particular genres of performances and it has a certain brand affiliation; you can now print that name on tickets as well. Remember that some patrons keep tickets for their entire lives as souvenirs in scrapbooks and other collections. So while the primary goal of a ticket is to direct patrons through the doors and into a seat quickly, they can have lasting branding implications. It is also important to be mindful of the technology adoption of your audience base; while mobile traffic and sales continue to rise, nearly all OvationTix partners still find the need for a space that would be traditionally called a “box office.” This is where tickets can be printed and re-printed and customer service matters can be handled quickly via a desktop or laptop device.
